The first sight of placing ballast over the top of the Tracks started last week with
the up Adelaide bound track between Mawson Lakes to Parafield Railway Stations
 being done with the down Gawler bound track remaining incomplete .

This crossover from North bound Gawler traffic platform-1 side to South Bound Adelaide platform-2 side on eastern
right side of Salisbury rws looking North as showed in pictures below only gets used on weekends. There're using new
wooden sleepers in this crossover track in last hundred metres before the Park Terrace Rail Crossing. If you look at the
 picture of the Salisbury Railway Station Photo’s from the "Salisbury to Pt Pirie Line 2010" page you see this crossover track.

Once all the rail joint welds of the Salisbury Station Cross Over had been completed
the Road/Rail Ballast Train  crossed the Park Tce Rail Crossing into the Salisbury
 Railway Station platform-1 side on the down Gawler Track with a passing
 north bound Standard Gauge SCT Freight Train.

Knowing that the work on the Gawler Line Upgrade is having a week off between xmas and New Year Eve with the public holiday
thrown with a week and a half off on break. With most of the workmen from Victoria as there’s no rail construction company in SA.

Having a look at what point the track Installation has reached at the end of Year 2011.

Dropped in at the Smithfield railway station and found the ballast has been laid at the station without any track installed yet. The track is installed just before and after the Smithfield station on the other side of the Anderson Walk rail crossing. 
The next station up the track is the Munno Para railway station with the track installed there as well, this was another awkward station to photograph being a construction site being all fenced off. 
Last station I visited today is the Kudla railway station which was the easiest station to get into to photograph. Looking south at the Kudla railway station beyond the Dalkeith Road Rail Crossing, you can see the point were the laid concrete sleepers have reached before the Xmas break shut down. Also at the Kudla railway station platform-1 has ballast laid ending just north of the station, whereas platform-2 has no ballast laid, ending at the southern end of platform.
