The 10th Anniversary of The Ghan service to Darwin from Adelaide on Sunday 2nd of February 2014 nearly to the day ten years earlier when the first service to Darwin left Adelaide on Sunday 1st of February 2004 , after the completion of the line from Alice Spring to Darwin . The railway to Darwin from Alice Springs commenced construction in July 2001 reaching Darwin on the 17th September 2003 , with the first freight train reaching Darwin on the 17th of January 2004 - then on the 4th of February 2004 the First Ghan passenger train reach Darwin .

1st Carriage one red class carriage,
2nd and 3rd carriage 2 private carriages,
4th carriage Sir John Forrest Carriage,
5th carriage gold class carriage,
6th and 7th carriage Platinum Class Carriages,
8th to 13th carriages gold class carriage end of platform-1.
On Platform-2: 8 more carriages were added to the back of the train shunted by Pacific National shunt engine PL1 from platform-2 to the end of the 13 carriages on platform-1, with
permission from ARTC to block an internal crossing inside GSR passenger yard making the train
length 21 carriages long, plus 4 motor rail wagons and two diesel electric loco's at the front.
