GOOLWA   Rx 207

GOOLWA  Rx 207  First  Passenger Run

Rx 207 in steam on the first day pulling passenger trains after it's lengthy restoration on the 13-03-2011.
I followed it on it's last trip of the day from Goolwa and back. I took some photos from Goolwa as it departs, one at Middleton, a couple at Victor Harbor, one at Bashams beach, and one in between Goolwa and Middleton.
It was not the first time for it to steam though. It was tested in steam between Goolwa and Victor Harbor with diesel 507 as back-up about a week before. It came through Strathalbyn on the 27-2-2011 with diesel 958 as a transfer movement to get it to Goolwa depot. It came through at 13:26. There was a stop for about 10mins or so, so the crew could grab some crib and check the engine over. It was not in steam though.
There was also a test train earlier to test for stiffness in the coupling rods etc. That was to and from Mt Barker and Strathalbyn. This was with 958 and 507 and 207 was sandwiched between the two.
