CUSTON bridge 315k.

What can one say about CUSTON other than the rail bridge adjacent to the 315K post being of different construction.. Nothing remains of the place which in its heyday supposedly included a station/platform, goods shed, stationmaster’s residence. It also supposedly had an engine shed along with a triangle for turning the locos as well.

FRANCES Station removed

30th June 2012
17 years after closure

Went for a run out to FRANCES and grabbed a few shots of what remains, gets less with each visit.. On this visit I was 'gunna' get a few shots from all sides of the old ugly station building.. but oops missed it too late as the station was all 'razed' just a level plarform site with evidence of recent heavy machinery working on the ground nearby. The station platform, the goods platform are still there along with the trackwork so far... hope it stays that way for a bit longer.

Did manage a few interesting shots of what looks like an old brick well adjacent to the tracks and north of where the station was, along with a two section concrete block 'thingy'... Then ventured south out of town over the main road crossing into town there, took a few pics, then came across what was possibly a railway dam..? filled with water and 2/3 thirds covered in that green algae stuff. Pictures also taken of a short bridge over a creek in the same area, the bridge even has the original painted MILEPOST marking from memory 261M 20CH - cause the milepost nearby was 348k.
